I'm working on my site and i want transparant table backgrounds like this site http://www.usefulcontent.org but i have no idea how to do it does anyone know?

actually the only way i know of is that its CSS, search for CSS help :)
i found a site that has alot on css but i couldn't find out anything about making the table backgrounds transparant any idea where to look?

Its actually a lot easier than you think....I, uh, borrowed ;) the css file and noticed that the background image used for that table was a .gif file. You can save gif files as transparent images. This imparticular image is transparent. All you need is a image editing program to create a transparent gif image. Its pretty easy to do if you know the basics of say photoshop or psp. Hope this helps, because I'm going to use it myself! :D

^^^Thats the image...You can't tell, but it is transparent. All they do is set the background of the cell to that image. Pretty cool huh.

ok im having a little trouble saving it as a transparent gif i have made it transparent and all that but when i save it doesn't save transparant? I'm using photoshop 6

When you create a new file, make sure the background (near the bottom of the new file window that pops up) is set to transparent. Otherwise when you save the file it will automatically set the background to white.
